Education in South Africa

Education is the most powerful tool we can use to change the world - Nelson Mandela
Education is the passing of knowledge from one generation to another  generation. If this passing of knowledge was to fail then we would find ourselves with an uneducated future generation and a another Dark Age.

The education system in South Africa has-and though being a sad truth- been failing. Undelivered textbooks in Limpopo; South African  companies unable to find skilled personnel; 80% of South African grade five learners are exposed to the risk of not learning to read and so on. Our society is facing a great danger that will darken the future of South Africa- lack of education.

The lack of education will cause a myriad of social problems such gang violence, prostitution, domestic violence and many more. These will be a result of no education and therefore the inability to attain jobs. Including health problems as these uneducated people will not desire to take care of themselves as they would know nothing of family planning and proper hygiene.

Some solutions to our education problems:

Ensure that the focus of education in early school years is on writing, reading and counting.

Ensure proper training of teachers.

The Department of Education should execute development plans of education efficiently and effectively.

The Social Box.

There is one way and only one way. Such is the Great Social Paradigm. There is only one way to look and only one way to act that has been dictated by media. They have put out false images of what the "perfect" man or woman looks like. Due to the fact that  these images are impossible to attain there has been an increase of depression in our modern society. With the increase of women taking pills and the statement: that there are no longer any good men around, being more true than false. It is no wonder that so many are able to say the world is going to hell. These false images have also destroyed human uniqueness. We can no longer think for ourselves rather now our thinking is shaped by society. The way in which we think, act, speak even walk is determined by our society. We have subjected ourselves to slavery but not the classical type of slavery but a new form of it and I would like to call it: Spirit Slavery. We have renounced our right to having spirits and have therefore lost our most precious humanity. To leave you with a  final thought I would like to ask a simple question: Are you the creator of yourself or is society?

First Day of Grade 9 Camp

                                                                              Tired.
This was to be the word for early morning of the 21st of January. This was the morning of the Grade 9 Camp at Mountain Sanctuary Park. There was a light air of excitement but when I say light I mean drowsy. The heavy bags and uncontrollable sleeping bags didn't exactly help with anyone's mood. We loaded our bags into the bus and then ourselves into the seats of the buses. Then as the wheels on the buses began their circular motion. There was a sudden burst of energy from every person and this made the entire road trip amazing. And the scenery once away from the urban area was enthralling.
Soon as we got to camp the most prevalent feature was the heat and I mean it was scorching. We got off and we were met by several facilitators. After they introduced themselves we played a number of enjoyable icebreakers. Everyone really knew how to laugh at themselves. We were then taught how to pitch a tent and after we had lunch at a beautifully blue pool. And 30 minutes later we went on a hike and it found me tripping over a myriad of rocks as I was staring at the astounding view of the Hartbeespoort Dam and the looming ancient Magaliesburg Mountain. After this we were taught how to cook in a storm cooker. And when it was time to sleep it was time to sleep the view of the stars was intoxicating. So this was the first day of the Grade 9 Camp. Awesome.

Big Hero 6

On the 17th of January I watched what was probably the best animation I have ever seen-and I've watched Monster's University and Inc. The movie follows Hiro Hamada teenaged robotics genius who graduated high school at 13- that's boosts a teenaged guy's self-esteem. Tadashi Hamada-who is also gifted in robotics and Hiro's brother-convinces his brother to apply to the university he works at.
After a series of technological advanced, high resolution animated, excessively coloured events. Such as illegal robot battles, killer microbot swarms, arrogant billionaires, villains in kabuki mask and everything else crazy. You'll find yourself caught up in the animation's comedy, story and astounding technology. I fell in love with this cartoon, maybe a little too easily but I'm glad I did because as I stated before BEST ANIMATION EVER.
